Cruise Control for 1998 Ford e350 Clubwagon Diesel??

I was wondering if it was possible to add cruise control to a 1998 Ford Clubwagon with the 7.3 diesel. The supposedly go-to shop here in town that would do this told me they can't get the part to add it to the diesel version anymore. Anyone know a possible way that could prove them wrong?

On my 01 7.3 I got a steering wheel from an 02 with cruise, changed the clockspring, plugged the wires up (they were already wired for the cc), connected the two wires near the brake master cylinder and it works great.

You can add it yourself by getting all OE parts from a donor vehicle of the same vintage.
I did it and it works as it should.

If it is electronic fly by wire you can do this with a couple of single pole, double throw momentary contact switches. I bought a then new 1999 Super Duty XL with almost no options. Ford said no cruise kit. A look at the Factory wiring diagram, 3 different resistors ( then from Radio Shack) a bit of wiring, and good to go. I did add the factory master cylinder as a safety feature, but, turns out it was not needed.
I put the small switches in the dash where I could reach them easily. Not quite the same as factory steering wheel pieces, but much less costly.
