Here is a good link if you want or need a custom bumper made for your truck & camper.

He does really good work !

All aluminum, very light weight, custom designs available.

Top shelf stuff. They also build all the fancy ($3K) bumpers, baja boxes, ladders, and racks you see on the Sportsmobiles.

What does the up-swinging front tire mount do? Simply for under-hood access, or does it lower the tire all the way to the ground?

The designs are a little to big for my tastes but I like the use of aluminum to keep the weight down....

Whats next :) Titanium?

It all looks great and well designed

Having a spare on the front of the truck probably hurts mileage and all that gear and swing outs blocking the back door of the camper looks complicated.

At one time mounting the spare on the front bumper was common, glad to see the idea show up again. That accomplishes a couple of things, a heavy object is moved to a 'lighter' area of the truck. Provides the option of 2 spares.

Great ideas, thanks Stan

Not sure that the front is realy lighter on most "loaded" trucks. On my F350 with the camper on & loaded, a diesel engine & a 12k winch, my weight distribution is within 50 lbs of being equal front to back. I could prabably use a little more weight hanging out the rear to lighten up the front. It works well on an F350 with load range E tires but the front would be overloaded on anything less. Just something to keep in mind as you move things around - Otherwise I actually like the tire on the front as long as it doesn't interfere with the winch.

I remember seeing spares up front. Usually on pick-ups with campers in the bed. I've always wondered what one up front does to radiator air flow.
