CVT Mt. Rainier on my F250

I just got my Mt. Rainier from CVT and installed it this weekend. I have been planing and saving for this for about eight months so I am super pumped to finally have it on and ready to use. I built a removable bed cage that keeps the tent at roof height when folded to try and reduce drag when driving. I still need to finish welding the frame and add some extra attachments to it for my hi-lift and shovel as well.

The rack

Looks great. I built a very similar removable rack for my truck using round tubing making the tent cab high. Problem I ran into was like your rack mine angles in. So the tent is in the middle of the bed. When using the annex is lays against the side of the truck. This is ok if your truck is clean but if not your brand new tent is gonna get filthy. Thought maybe about putting an old blanket on the side of the truck when using the annex . What are you planning to do?

I haven't thought of that yet, the blanket idea is a good one. The other option would be a tarp so it is easier to clean and stow. If the tarp was long enough you could run it under the tent floor to keep that cleaner as well.

I like the tarp idea, better than a blanket. Like you said easier to clean and store. Then use as a ground cloth when folding up the annex. I use a brown outdoor carpet under the floor of the annex to keep rocks and sticks from poking through the floor.
