Hello,
To start, yes I will post photos as this evolves.
I decided to start the rebuild of my 1991 Defender 90. The end goal of my build is for the wife and I to drive from our ranch in Oregon, to Zion National park, and then up to Tuktoyaktuk, Canada. I will be building a trailer that can hold my KLR650 and camping gear after the 90 is complete. It’s a bucket list item.
So full story. I am the second owner and purchased her in 14’ from a farmer just south of Madrid.
I drove her back to my place in Cadiz. Which is where I found my first kick in the rear. The previous owner replaced the LT230 with a BW out of a RRC. Unfortunately, at the time I don’t know any better. All I knew was that I had the TDI dream car that I wanted since I first saw one in 1993. She has been my daily driver ever since.
There has been a lot of work out in since I bought her, but today I pulled the engine and trans to clean everything up and repair a few bad spots in the frame.
I figured that since I had stocked so many other builds, I should give back to the forum and have my own.
As I build, I will give as much information as possible about parts and problems along the way.
