Dana 60 Front vs. rear parts

Getting ready to order parts for the rear Dana 60. Wondering if there is a difference in parts for front vs rear. Of course the axle shafts aren't the same. What about inner seals, carrier, ring & pinion?

Thanks!

Front is high pinion so the gears aren't the same, bearing kits are different too. Carrier bearings are the same but thats about it. Rear axle doesn't have inner axle seals.

thanks for the reply, Chris.

So, i should look for standard rotation R&P?

When re-gearing, what else do you do to the rear axle while it's apart?

Call a good gear supplier like Randys and give them your BOM# to make sure they send you the right stuff. A set of gears and master install kit should be all you need unless the rig has high miles and you want to replace the outer bearings & seals too.

You should also have a look into the bigger suppliers, like summit or so. Just to get an idea what is on the market for your axle and for what prices.

e.g. I did the same after a German US Car shop offered me a set for (let´s say) 500,-. Though the ring/gear would have been non-refundable! So I ordered myself and saved roughly 300,- inkluding installset. Reason was also: Instead of the very rare 4,09:1 I orderd 4.10:1. These have way more possibilites and therefore they are way cheaper.
