The time has come to try and consolidate all my thoughts in a public space.
After 12 years living in a 1988 Ford Festiva (www.PeaceLoveCar.com) the last 5 with my lovely girlfriend. We have a number of ideas for our next build, we are looking forward to some direct feedback as we build well rolling.
Priorities (so you have a better chance understanding our choices)
Smallest Possible Footprint (must be able to park in city centers)
Fuel Economy
Ability to Sleep/Cook Inside
Unique North American Appearance
Emissions Exempt
Off Road Mobility
Easy Access of Adventure Equipment (Climbing, Kiteboarding, Mountain Biking, etc)
We are working on two builds this Post will be focused on the Delica. We are using the Delica as a transition vehicle to test concepts for our ultimate build the "NOMADZ" step van. The "SLACKER" Delica does not meet all our needs but it is an upgrade from the Festiva.
We bought the Delica off craigslist without seeing it not the best idea considering our luck with buying vans in this manner. See Blog HEREhttp://yogaslackers.blogspot.com/2013/02/2-on-buying-car-in-chile.html
The build is pretty far along with the build I will try and add the progress here by Jan 5th 2018.
