Disco Aux. fuel tanks?

Does anyone know a company that sells auxillary fuel tanks for the Disco II? I know "Long Ranger" down under makes them, but I can't get them to e-mail me back and I need something soon.
And thoughts?

Thanks,

Tyler

You might try Rover Accessories. I know they had some long ranger tanks in stock in LA when they were there. Not on their web site, but give them a call.

Also talk to Ho at EE. He might know of something.

Long Ranger Tanks

I contacted Long Ranger regarding purchasing one of their fuel tanks a couple of years ago. I vaguely remember that the shipping was as much as the tank itself, around $700.

Hmmm - With the standard 24 gallon tank and a couple of gerry cans I can go a heck of a looong way. I regularly roam around northern Nevada where the towns/gas stops are further apart than anywhere else in the lower 48; and hardly ever need even the gerry cans.

On really really bad mountaious trails I get about 12mpg, worst case, so with 34 gallons you can dependably get about 400 miles.

That's really funny !!! With the exception of ARB it's almost impossible to do business with Australian companies. In some ways I'm a little envious of their business ethic which seems to be "We are doing just fine, why bother with all the hassle of exporting".

Same thing exists in Cape Town when the surf is up!

Depending on your location. You should be able to find someone who build tanks for farm implements, boats or big rigs. We used a local boat builder and had them build a custom aluminum tank to fit on the side of my truck. Just pick up the yellow pages.

Very true. I'm just looking to get rid of jerry/gerry (I can never remember which is right) cans in an effort to minimize the weight up high.

That custom built tank is a really good idea. I very well may go that route. Thanks

I personally think it is the only way to go to get what you want at the right $$. Just takes a little more legwork.
