Discovery Hood Latch Options

Im not replacing the crappy stock hood latch.

Im just trying to get some good ideas before I buy something.

Id rather not use hood pins.

Personally, I'd like to use Camel Trophy hood pins on mine, but I have not been able to find them.

Post up a link if you find them. I never gave it much thought until I saw this thread, but mine has been a little tough to open lately...

I like the bottom two options. The top one looks expensive. Just those push pins alone cost a pretty penny.
Have you tried lubing your cable. A friend of mine lubed his entire cable and it was like butter. Might be worth a try?

@Paladin your trackday pins are exactly what Nashvillerover is talking about.

I used them on my Disco1 to reduce the wobble of the bonnet during higher speed. Worked a charm just make sure you get a version with stainless or alloy pin.

Yeah, mine are not, and the pins are starting to rust. The other parts are aluminum. Oh well, it's a working car, not a garage queen.

Just looked at Summit Racing, they have lots of hood pins, but none of them are captive like the Sparco ones.
