What's everyones preference in regards to displaying images? I personally like a clean layout so nothing else distracts the viewer from the image but I seem to change my mind a lot when it comes to what looks best as far as background colour for web display. Printed images are one thing, but choosing what works best when it comes to web display is a different beast, and I seem to be all over the place. For instance, I change the background colour on my smug page seemingly every time I upload. One day I like white, the next black, then grey, it's never ending. Thoughts, what are your preferences for your images?

Black, but I like a small white thin frame around the image that is about 1/8" away from the edge of the picture.

Here is my hard and fast rule:

On paper, print on white.
On web, display on black.

I have a lot of reasons for this, but that might have to wait...I have students in 10 minutes...

I have always felt that white draws the eyes away from the main image where black pulls the eyes into the image. If that makes since at all
