DIY Quick-Release Awning Brackets?

I'd like to get one awning and be able to move it between the sides of my truck cap as needed. I've seen some commercial products that accomplish this, but they are pricey.

Has anyone built their own brackets? I'm looking to get some ideas for a DIY movable bracket system.

Thanks!

I am planning on doing the same. I don't think there is an easy quick-release option.

The awnings I believe weigh around 50 lbs. Between offroading and 65+ MPH winds while driving the attachment point has to be bomber. I have a big over the shell lumber rack with 1500 lb capacity. My plan is to have a welder weld tabs onto this rack where I want the rack to be installed. I will drill and tap on my own for a bolt to go through these brackets or tabs to hold the awning. Whatever I own in the future that I will want to carry the awning on will get a similar bracket or tab on the roof rack to catch the same bolts. I think it will likely take two people two ladders and 15-20 minutes to move the awning from vehicle to vehicle but it will sure beat the hour plus I spent setting up camp this weekend.

Thumbscrews and two places to mount?

I'd rather use a bolt that can be power-tool driven, so I can mount and unmount it with a cordless drill. I would also consider using a security screw or bolt so it is not too easy to remove for anyone else.
