Built using the information here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-diy-wedge-camper.604686/
Built this a year ago and have had many comfy nights of sleep in it. I have thoroughly enjoyed it, but time to move on to something else so I’m hoping to find a new owner for this one. Asking for a bit under what I put into the cost of materials, and I'm sure they have gone up since then.
Built using a mix of 15 series 8020 with some 10 series for supports on the inside of the wedge roof and the roof rack support/mounting portion with some custom cut brackets. The panels are made using ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel, thin sheets of aluminum sandwiched around plastic, it's lightweight and sturdy. The top panel is 3mm, and the bottom panel is a 6mm panel for rigidity that has both been fully sealed with no leakage when driving through a few storms.
Inside Sleeping zone size is 50"W 87"L
Outside dimensions is 53"W 90"L and just under 6.5" tall (without the additional crossbars)
Unsure of weight, but somewhere around 175lbs?
Located in San Francisco, but willing to meet somewhere within a few hours from here.
$2000 OBO
Includes:
- Thule anti-condensation mat
- Includes locks to keep everything inside safe
- Tent Poles to pop out the back panel on the back for quick shade coverage
- A zip-on awning that covers the back door zone and still allows access into the tent
- 3 crossbars on top for carrying things
- Custom attachment for holding Maxtrax boards inside 2 of the crossbars
- Amber LED’s that wire into a goal zero and on a dimmer, but can be adapted to other 12v power options
- Requires a way to attach 8020 Crossbars to the roof of your vehicle.
- Everything uses torx security bolts, have had added peace of mind with street parking in SF
