Dodge diesel BHAF question

Quick one for you bhaf veterans... Does or did your bhaf have the steel mesh inside the filter as well as out???

i just picked up a BHAF and it is only meshed on the outside.

the surface area this has reduces vacuum per inch than a smaller one, if your worried about it sucking the paper through dont.
