Just in time to help with holiday gift selection, the folks at DPReview.com have published a comparison test (their first, I believe) of point and shoot cameras priced between $100 and $150. Read the full test here:

The reviewers chose the Panasonic Lumix LZ8, an 8 megapixel model with 5x zoom, as their favorite. The LZ8 was the only model tested to place in the top group for image quality outdoors, indoors, and with flash. The LZ8 has a manual mode that gives the photographer greater control over how the image is captured, too. The LZ8 uses SDHC memory cards and draws power from two AA cells.
