Driving Light wiring to Headlights?

In my old jeep and in my last Discovery 1 I have Rigged LED lights wired through Relays, but with the power tied into the High Beam Lights. I could turn them on with the High beams and bit other wise they would be off. I could also choose to turn the LEDs off to drive with High beams on the Highway. On my current LR3 I have the Rigged LEDs wired through relays to the Battery. any advise on if I would be okay to wire them in to the HID High Beams on the Truck like I did on my old truck???

thanks for any advise...

I would like to avoid this out come...

Should be no problem. The relay doesn't pull amperage. I had a similar setup on my Xterra (tapped into high beam, with a master on/off).

Would recommend using the high beam bulb instead of the HID shutter mechanism as that is just going to be a much smaller and less robust wire. Remember, the HID portion of your lamp doesn't have a 'high beam' its just a shutter opening.

What surprises me is that you even need the driving lights! With the bixenon on the LR3 plus aftermarket "h7" LED bulbs in the high beam housing, there is *so* much light!

@Blaise I live in Texas and have about 8 and a half hours to driver to leave. There are a lot of Deer and antelope in between the Texas Hill Country and New Mexico. ? you would’ve t happen to know the colors of the Wire? I think it’s Blue with a black stripe.
