Dropdown Bumper/Hitchframe ?!?

hi all , new to this board (but not new to overlanding ;) )
i`m working on designing my new tow/expo Rig (MDT based)...
i struggle with the trailer hitch ;

- needs to be able to tow some of my fairly big and low (vintage aluminum) trailers (i think ~16- 18" coupler height ?!?)
- i do not like to use radical drop hitches
- i want a clean departure angle of at least 30 degrees
- no tools needed (i dont want something removable)

so i had this idea of a "pivoting hitch sub-frame/bumper" ;
the (very well triangulated) frame would be some 2 feet long with (truck frame mounted) HD pivot points at the front and some kind of "quickpin(s)" in the rear (and springs to take away the weight so it can be lifted up)
street/tow setting would be down with the hitch/bumper tubing also acting as a rear collision/dive-under protection (and to meet eventual bumper height laws).
for offroad use i could simply pull the pins and fold it up to the frame/body for a clear (and armored) departure angle.
(i hope my bad English explanation makes any sense :eek:)

anybody know of a Rig with something like that ? ... know of any pics ?
(i know i`m not the smartest guy in the world so i bet somebody already made something similar :p)

any ideas and suggestions are very welcome

btw the Unicat Amerigo has a similar device :

... however, its not a hitch and it pivots back/forward and not up (and may could use a new tubing :Wow1:)

i made this quick photoshop sketch :

this is roughly how i envision the hitch/bumper (and the frame mounted "swing up" spare tire carrier) ...
i`m looking for ideas or examples of how to lock each in place (tool-less if possible)

One thing you seem to be forgetting is DOT regs.

That bar is called a safety bar as there are regulations pertaining to maximum distance from the ground as well as overall width.

My very foggy memory seems to remember 24" or so from the ground.

How it the truck licensed?

maybe i was unclear with my description :)

whenever i`m on public roads (and/or towing) i would lower the bumper/hitch.
i would only raise it when "off-road" (that is the reason why i`m looking for ideas to raise/lower/fasten it quickly and without tools ;) )

lowered, the bar would be roughly at my min ground clearance target of 1/2 tire diameter = ~20" (i plan to run 42" x 22.5" singles) and it would be about as wide as the truck (~ 92").

the rig will be based on a < 26 k lbs Truck (non CDL). like my previous trucks it will be licensed and insured as an RV.
