Dual battery wiring. Painless kit to use OTRATTW Contura switch

Hi all

Could not find this referenced anywhere clearly but looking for anyone who is using the painless dual battery 250 amp kit and using it with a Contura switch. A dpdt like from Ottrattw. Looks almost OEM and better than the painless toggle.

Just not sure on the painless yellow and brown wire equivalent that match to
The Contura. The painless switch does not have an internal schematic.

If anyone has wired their own 20amp dpdt please let me know

Much thanks for your suggestion. I've worked and studies quite a bit on the diagram for the wiring connections but what is unknown is the inner switching on the DPDT inthe kit. I have found out thru talks some small hints from other dual battery setups that the common wire from the auxiliary batt post is shared to the power IN on one side of the Contura Carling and the other side power IN from the hot ignition ON wire. Except for the independent hot and grnd for the switch LEDs which are obvious; its an uncertainty how the dash switch triggers the solenoid isolator.

I'm close, but no chicken just yet. Knowing how other dual setups swapped for a Contura. DPDT 10 blade; is the key to figuring it out.

Thanks

Hi
I've going thru Ottratw website which does not include the schematics. But the Carling maybe just what I need so far. I've got the vjd2 dpdt switch and I'm trying to mimic the painless sw. Painless is not too helpful they won't disclose how the internals switch. But I think I'm closer with this from Carling.

Thanks

The OTTRATTWOMG guys are always super busy, so I can cut them some slack. But for the record, they don't manufacture the switch, which is why I suggested looking at Carling's website.

Much thanks; I dug for the Carling v series tech docs and found detail for the VJD2 UTHB-0000-000. I could drill down to the circuit diagram which kinda tells me how the dpdt sw works , except I can't quite figure out which of the 21 circuits matches my switch. Ugh. My 4x4 shop will checkout my schematics and givens a hand.

I've been changing my install plans to add 200 amp? Fuse bar for the primary and aux battery inline to the isolator. The painless doesn't use this but it may be a good idea nonetheless. I'm also fusing the wire from the switch, if I end up using it.

They are busy, I can appreciate it. It's been invaluable to pickup the circuit info from Carling. It gets me closer to figuring the expected wiring. I know the Dirty Parts has already done the wiring scheme for the Carling/Contura sw. Since I did not get their kit, I'm not exactly plugged in for any help. ;(

Anyone whose got the DP w/ a Carling sw I'd like to know how they swapped the original sw to the newer one. :)

Much thanks

J
