Curious. I'm not sure I understand why it needs a dump truck bed?

I actually use Dunkel Brothers in my work. I'll have to stop by there and check this out. Maybe I'll see that pole in action. :sombrero:

I think it's impressing! It would be even more impressing on this side of the Atlantic!

What tires are those?

HEY! They had a dream and turned that dream into reality!

Until you guys can "belly up to that bar"...Maybe the thing to do is just show some RESPECT!

I don't think it was meant to be disrespectful.

The truck is obviously not a exercise in utilitarian design. The whole thing is a bit of an exercise in excess.

I see the proverbial "brass pole" as a symbol of human excess. It is a sign of someone who has a lot money to spend (neither a good or bad thing).

The fact that the truck elicits responses such as that, indicates that people see it as a thing of luxury. Not for the "common man". That's a good thing (in this context)...because their target market, as you indicated, are those people who can afford the "over the top" luxury items. It wouldn't sell if they built that truck and then put a spartan interior in it. It *needs* that proverbial brass pole.

And yea, I'd bet Al is getting a good chuckle...

Oh, since you have known Pete for a while....how much truth is there to the rumors about their Porsche collection? I've heard it is quite impressive...:smiley_drive:

If you notice in a couple of the pics, that is part of the ramp system to be able to load the quads onto the roof of hte truck, smart idea really.

Goodtimes......I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head. No one is dissen anybody......................yet.

 ....Sorry, was not being disrespectful. Workmanship is top shelf! Just injecting a little humor....I cast myself on thine sword in humble apology. Besides, the pole may actually be a periscope for all we know....and thus ready for land or sea adventures! :victory:

I saw this truck with a matching trailer parked outside of the Quail Lodge motorsports event in Carmel Valley a few weeks ago. They were there with a vintage Porsche. Porsche was the featured marque at the Monterey Historics this year.

The truck definitely stood out and was noticed! Probably more so than the Porsche they brought!

Funny thing, yesterday afternoon I stopped by Dunkel Industries to check on a project, and saw a bunch of their toys, but not this truck. Then I went on to the LA Auto Show, and there it was! I got the 4-star tour from Ms. Dunkel Brown, sister/niece/daughter or whoever of the builder.

The "brass pole" is actually a handrail of sorts, and also serves as the mount for a very clever dinette table that converts to a bed.

The interior is very luxurious, with curved light wood, leather and TVs everywhere. Fit and finish is excellent. It's reminiscent of a yacht interior. Its roomy, with plenty of standing room inside. The floorplan is a little odd, built around a fairly large wet bathroom.

The exterior is very well done- all of the matte finish components around the waistline are Line-x'ed storage compartments, diesel tanks or fold-out benches. The bumpers match, and are beautifully shaped and heavy steel. The front has an 18.5 winch. This is a well thought out and well executed vehicle.

Strangely, the one I saw (which looks identical to these photos- probably the same one) is 2wd. Dunno what they mean about off-road capability, unless they also have a 4wd version. It has off-road-ish tires.

Ms. Dunkel Brown threw around "$300,000 to $400,000" for the pricing. More specific numbers are irrlevant to me at that general price range.
