E250 rear aux gas tank

I've been looking hard at ways to add additional fuel capacity to my 2001 E250. Chris has a new tank that might just fit the bill, but I also found this:

It's a rear tank and goes behind the rear axle, where the spare currently lives. It's very inexpensive and will require a new sending unit and filler, but I wonder how far off the fit might be on a 2001? It's designed to fit 89 thru 91 Ford Econolines. Does anyone have an idea how much fabrication might be needed to fit it to a 2001? I'd probably just plumb it to transfer fuel to the main tank. They also offer a 35 gallon side mount, but I don't think it's any different than the one I currently have, except it has not been modified to clear the transfer case.

I've looked for a tank from a cutaway, but they seem to be pretty rare. So, if anyone has an idea how much fabrication would be needed, I'd love to know. The thing is cheap enough, I just might order one up anyway in hopes I can make it fit. Thanks in advance..........................Arctic Traveller

That's cheap... Years back I swapped the rear tank on my 84 F250 (22g) to the large van tank. (33g) It bolted right in. So you could eye up any older Ford pick-up with dual tanks for comparison. My van has the large aftermarket aux. rear tank. The cross member for the spare is still in there, but, seems if that was removed the tank would be flush instead of hanging down. Hope this helps.
