E250 Tires?

My 4x4 E250 van is in dire need of new tires, the old ones are pretty worn and are probably unsafe. I found myself going on a lot of dirt and gravel roads lately, but it's still probably 70% highway driving. I want something durable, somewhat off-road capable and not overly expensive. What are my options and what should I expect to spend?

I was recently able to buy new 265 75 16 BFG A / T installed for $675.
I feel that they do most everything well with very little compromise. I would recommend them in any size that you would need.

I been running cooper DISCOVERER A/T3 on my street truck. I was going to try them on my e350 since they make a 10 ply E rated. and they are made in USA!

AT/3 or BFG KO2 are very good options, especially if you need traction on dirt and rock. The AT/3 is a bit quieter, and cheaper but doesn't sacrifice much performance for it. The KO2 carries the snowflake rating if that matters to you.

X2 on BFG A/T... I've been happy with them on the Fj40. Good road manners, quiet, good off road... Suck in mud I'm told.

I've heard side walls aren't the strongest if you're playing on the Rocks... TOYO are tougher and last longer... But for the price, I went BFG, since they'll age out before the wear out in all likely hood.

Right now I'm torn, I can get a 4 BFG A/T KO2s with about 500 miles on them (225/75R16) for the price of 2 new tires. I plan to do zero off road in the E350... But snow/ice/noise/economy/control are my primary objectives... So I'm not sure they'd be my best option... Sometimes I wish I had more dually rims... They'd likely be better in deep snow, but changing tires is such a PITA IMHO on a 9k 'van' with duallys.

If you get them but don't want them in the end, can I buy them off you? Sounds like a perfect thing for my big trip.

PS. Is there a good reason to go bigger then 30"?
