I've lurked and lusted after everyone's builds and rigs and now I think I'm ready to jump in!
The wife and I are looking to buy a van, build it out (a little) and use it to pull a trailer for what we hope will be fulltime as we travel across the country. While I would love a 7.3 4x4 with a high top, I know it's way over my budget, and I don't need that (but we can dream right?)
I/we really like the passenger vans for the windows and interior that we can build off of and think we found a contender. A 2001 E350 15 passenger, that looks really clean in the pictures, and there has been new tires, some AC work done, new fluids, etc. There appears to be some minor bumps and dings, but that is liveable, and an aftermarket bumper. The gentleman is not super responsive as to what the engine/transmission is or if it's set up for towing. His reply was it's very clean, he's going back to driving truck and doesn't need it, and that we should come look at it. It's a good deal (asking $3000) and if it can haul what I want it to, it's probably worth the towing setup, sway bars, and additional tranny cooler.
I'm hoping some of you experts can weigh in and let me know what if anything major I should look out for when we go visit it over the weekend?
