NASA has another holiday gift to the world. This time it's a series of highly detailed photos of the dark side of Planet Earth. Interesting to see where the lights of human habitation are concentrated.

In the photos of USA, it's easy to see where the Interstate highways cross the mountain west and the great plains. I'm pretty sure the cluster of lights near Bismarck, ND are flares from natural gas wells.
