Echo Tents and condensation

Greetings all,

This is my first post to the forum, but I've been reading on it a bit and feel fortunate that there is so much experience out there! Thank you all for sharing, I feel I've learned a ton.

Motivating all this learning is a planned drive up the Dempster Highway in mid-August of next year. My wife and I, along with two teenagers (and a dog), want to camp. We are very familiar with the sort of tent one puts in a backpack, but for this trip we envision something more substantial, off the ground, and suitable for several weeks of setting up and taking down. After the trip, we plan on keeping the tent(s), primarily for fall and early winter use.

The vehicle is a 2005 F150 crew with a short box and a shell. Considering costs and limited space available for storage of a trailer, it seems to us that putting two tents on the truck makes sense, and hopefully will not affect handling too badly (or, if it does, is correctable).

The question now turns to tents, of which I have seen only a few. This post concerns the Echo tents, as I have seen and fondled them, can actually buy them, and appreciate what appears to me to be sturdy materials. The cable system that suspends the tent in the absence of the ladder seems a good feature. I am concerned about breathability and condensation, especially in colder weather.

Echo's seem to have only a few reviews, and condensation seems to be a property of many of the RTTs (as it is in some of my ground tents). Do any of you folks have experience with breathability or condensation in Echo tents in cooler temperatures?

Thanks once again for the information on the forum and for any information you can provide.
