Eezi-awn RTT Operation question - Am I really this dumb?

Ok eezi-awn guys, I need a little assistance if you could.

I bought the new 1200 Econo model, and I'm reading through the instructions and I see the attached picture/step. Now, either I'm blind/retarded, or my tent doesn't have these. Is it just because it's the econo model that they omitted these, or is it an f-up? It would be really nice to have them since when you close it, all the canvas material ends up outside of the tent, and it's a PITA to tuck it in.

If anyone has an interior shot showing these that'd be awesome. I need to call Sierra or the NA rep. I guess to find out why my tent doesn't have them.

All the Series 3 tents have elastic shock cords that pull the tent material inward when folding the tent.

We don't stock the Econo version of the Eezi Awn so I don't know if it has the shock cords or not. My guess would be it does not.

Contact Paul at www.equipt1.com to get a definitive answer.

Thanks Martyn, guess I didn't look that closely at the eezi-awn site. I figured it might be due to being the econo model. Hey, they gotta make up the $200 difference somewhere right?

The thing is that they still have the instruction manual with that in there. They need to make a separate manual for the econo that removes that step and adds a "spend an additionaly 5min trying to tuck the canvas back in while closing" step. Guess that'll be the first thing I have to rig-up for it.

I'm assuming ya'll use the Series 3 only for your trailers?

Yes we use the Series 3. The shock cord system is something relatively new to RTT. 5 or 6 years ago none of them had them, so you had to manually stuff the excess fabric into the tent.

When you do this lift up the bows of the tent and stuff in each section, rather than trying to stuff all the material that's hanging out into one spot. Makes putting the cover on a lot easier.

An other tip is to leave the door half way unzipped so there is room for the air to escape when you fold the tent, rather than have it expand out the fabric as it closes.

Sewing in your own shock cords wouldn't be too difficult. You'd have to stitch them through a seam in the fabric so it has enough strength, but it wouldn't be too difficult.
