Elk Rut in Yellowstone National Park

Every Miles A Memory

Expedition Leader
We've gotten up the last few mornings before sunrise to check out the bugling bull in the West Thumb Area of Yellowstone National Park where we're staying right now

He's been Bugling all night long and has quite the Harem that he tends to. Its funny to see the harem get all riled up as he calls to them and chases them around.

Here are a few of my favorites from the last two mornings. This is very early for the rut, and I'm told by the end of the month, it'll be like trying to sleep through a symphony of buglers from all the racket. But it does sound like music to me right now, that and the coyotes and its like I'm sleeping in a Concert Hall

Nice shots! I could just lay there listening to the elk and coyotes. But if it goes on all night long, I would be ready for some sleep after about 3 nights!
