Just returned from an adventure in Ethiopia. Was surprised how the Toyota Land Crusier has replaced the Land Rover as the vehicle of choice.
As with most other vehicles on the highway, it seems Toyota in one version or another, has about 75% of the Ethiopian market.
Here are a few versions of the LC I saw:
One of two Discoverys I saw the entire time there.
There were still some 110's in use:
Plenty of UN Toyotas:
The Hilux has pretty much captured the pickup market:
Every old FJ Cruiser we saw had been modified to be a "tow truck".
Everyone of these was powered by a diesel engine.
There were loads of LC pickups, sorry I didn't get a few shots to share.
I think I found one of 5 Jeep Cherokees in the country.........
