From reading and looking at cool trucks here i got this crazy urge to get another montero as a spare, recently i saw montero sport posted for $800 so i called the guy and went to see it. Long story short he sold it to me for $500 and it has everything i was looking for: 3.5L SOHC and 4.9 diffs, bonus it runs too. :wings: There are 3 bad things that bother but happy to fix: leaking fuel(i think fuel pump), 202K miles(timing belt) and cracked windshield. Later today i'll post pictures and will be updating this thread on the fixing progress

The main issue with Sport was that it leaks fuels, but it runs good and transfer case is working fine. My plans is to get it in a good shape before the winter and keep it as a spare, only if something major starts breaking then i'll part it out.

Finally removed fuel tank, rust belt strikes again

Fuel filler metal tube rusted out so bad that it broke inside of rubber hose

After removing rubber hose from the tank i found that

Here is the tank, everything on the fuel pump rusted to pieces but tank itself is in good condition i think there is a second lining in there

Some rust fell inside the tank and i used magnit to get it out

Can anybody help me with adivse how to remove fuel line connector, no matter what i did it didn't come off, lucky for me fuel pump lines rusted to braking point
