Existing NMO roof top connector question.

I'm ignorant regarding CB antennas. I bought an ex USFS Jeep XJ that has an existing NMO mount in the middle of the roof. Ideal from what I understand, however the Jeep now has a roof rack that will not be coming off. Easy to run a cable to the NMO and add the CB of my choice, but is there an easy way to possibly run a short cable from the NMO exterior connection to mount an antenna on the roof rack? I'm thinking probably not, but I'm no expert so asking the experts. If that's not possible do I abandon the existing NMO and if so whats the best way to mount to the roof rack? I can run a new cable up through the existing hole using roof pass through to the roof rack location, but is that my best alternative?

Something like this will screw on to your NMO mount and allow you to attach an antenna cable to run to the roof rack.

Excellent, I told you I was clueless. Is there a recommended quality of cable to use when running from the adapter to the antenna? Depending on where I mount it I only need 30" to maybe 60".

Any good quality RG58/U will work. Try to keep the cable length to the minimum amount needed.
Amazon has jumpers and a large selection of mounts for CB antennas. Search Amazon for RG58 jumper and CB mirror mount to see what is available.

Remember to waterproof any exposed connectors on the mounts after you install what works for your application.
