Expedition Gear Hauler Trailer Build for V3-XV

Approx 3 years ago I started a build on my version of a DIY "Earthroamer". That build is mostly done and I am now on the next part of the project, which is a trailer (rolling garage) that will allow me to have my toys/gear with me (or at least most of the time) as I travel around chasing, powder skiing, camping, road & mtn biking and sailing.

Imagine leaving Colorado in February to chase the snow, stopping in the desert to ride and then landing in California or Mexico to kite-board. Camping and overlanding our way across the country.

Below are a couple of pictures, to give you the idea of what I am dealing with and also my preliminary layout of the trailer (12'x7.5').

A couple of early thoughts:
(1) I need to lift the trailer, so it doesn't look so goofy. That is probably an axel flip and maybe bigger wheels/tires.
(2) Solar on the trailer, so that it can have a battery, lights, inverter/charger, and maybe an extra freezer/cooler box.
(3) I will probably leave it pretty plain looking, so it isn't a target for thieves.

I would really like everyone's ideas and feedback please. I haven't found much on the web of others that have done something like this. Although I did hear the Outside Van is now doing trailers to go with their Sprinter van conversions.

I am also pretty handy around the shop and pretty good at sourcing or making things. If you are interested in the camper build the link is below.

Thank-you in advance everyone. Let your imagination flow and we'll work on this build together. Please share links, pictures, ideas etc of other similar builds.

Thx
John

I have started to make some progress. Bike fork mounts installed on the one wall and shelving built to hold 20 plastic boxes.

The shelves will get shock-cords with hooks for each box stack to keep them on the shelves going down the road. I still need to figure out velcro holds for the rear wheels on the bikes and also a way to store and secure the front wheels for the bikes.

I ended up with approx 18" path between the bikes and storage boxes.

Best way to haul stuff.
Inside a trailer out of the weather and out of sight of thieves.

I assume there is good backing behind the bike mounts/hangers.
Check out Yakima for front wheel holders and rear tire hold downs.
