Experience with Tepui Weather Hoods?

Does anyone have any experience with the Tepui weather hoods in cold/rainy/snowy environments? I'm looking for some practical additions to my winter camping equipment, and am exploring picking one of these up for my Kukenam Sky. I'm just looking for some insight as to whether or not it would be worth the investment.

I just sold one to a friend who used it during a local annual "Freeze your Tail Off" event in very cold conditions. He has a Kukenam. He sent me a text on his way home and here's what he said about it. "Weatherhood equals amazing! We were out at FYTO and stayed totally warm inside. Easy to put on too."

I haven't used one personally but have sold several and everyone who bought one seems very pleased with it. It's a fully waterproof material so rain/snow won't be an issue and will keep you from needing to dry out wet tents when you get home. Put it on to keep the weather off and shake off the moisture when you take it off. Tent and interior stay dry as a bone.

I remember reading somewhere that the weather hoods also keep tents cooler in the summer months due to the reflective properties of the material. Is this true, or am I fabricating this information in an attempt to further justify the purchase to myself?

Also, do you carry the Tepui accessories as a dealer, or just the tents? If I do decide to bite the bullet on one of these, I'd like to support a contributing member of the forum.

yes the weather hoods can provide a bit of help in warm weather. The reflective aluminized material will reflect sun/heat rather than absorb it so it can help. The flipside to it is that the weatherhood can restrict some airflow so it may not always be the "right" solution for warm weather. Just need to look at your individual conditions.
