external wiring on an LR3/4

where's a good location to bring in outside cabling on an LR3/4?
I've got another thread on the general mods group, but looking for LR specific advice.
I'm not opposed to drilling a hole in the roof, as long as I can seal it good.
I've got a light bar mounted front, and CB antenna which i'd like to mount towards the rear. (or would it be better to mount it forwards as well?)

It is tough. . . I just ran the wires under the front windshield cowling and behind the door bulb seal. Only place I could find without risky drilling.

I think he is referring to the black plastic snap on trim on the sides of the windshield.

I went with a snorkel as my wire conduit solution. My backup plan was though the "shark fin" on the roof.

It depends on where you are terminating the wires. I use the rear door for some fairly large wires with no problem. Running a wire for power under the A pillar cowl, then under then cowl as Scott mentioned is ok as well, I also have runs there. There is a plug in the firewall to the lower right of the brake booster to get into the cabin.

I've used that bulb around the steering column to get wires from the engine bay to the passenger space with good success. I currently have a #8 and a duplex #10 run through there with no issues.

To get power onto the rear of the roof for some aft-mounted lighting I recently installed I simply drilled through the sheetmetal and ran a grommet. It's on the passenger side rear, just forward of the hatch. I pulled the trim panel at that holds the aft cargo light (it just unsnaps) to get to the back side but it's not a straight shot as there are several layers of metal in there so look before you drill.

I considered running a cable bulkhead fitting like I use for boats but most of them require a 3/4 to 1" hole and I didn't want to go that large. Or they needed access to the back side of the bulkhead to put on the backing nut and there's not access in that location. The grommet and silicon I'm running now is much lower profile and requires a smaller hole and should stay sealed fine though I'll monitor it to be sure. Of course, here in California it's not like rain is much of an issue these days...

The funny thing about LR, is that the instructions for the LED daytime running lights state you need to poke a hole in the lower driver side boot to pass through one of the accessory wires. They specify adding silicone to close the hole. Struck me as odd...
