I stumbled onto this photo that I took a couple years ago and thought it might be worth sharing. Carrying extra fuel in an expedition style rig is a must and more times than not it ends up going into several jerry cans on the roof rack. One problem with this is that jerry cans were not designed with aerodynamics in mind. So you load up your roof rack with your extra fuel and in doing so your essentially strap down fuel robbing windbreaks to the top of your truck.
Anyway, a friend of mine has these slick 5 gallon fuel containers on my FJ40 and I thought they'd be a great alternative for roofrack mounted extra fuel. With the low profile design you could likely stack 2-3 on top of each other and not be taller than the sides of your rack. My guess is that the wind resistence would be much improved over "normal" gas cans.
Anyway, just a thought I figured I would share.
