F-550 super duty hydrogen fuel cell electric truck?

My personal opinion is that the trucking industry will ultimately go right past electric and move to hydrogen power.

You are dead on. EV as we know it will not be the vehicle of the future. There is a reason Elon is on to hydrogen, he knows battery powered vehicles do not deliver what we need.

Hydrogen combustion?

The vehicle in this thread *is* an electric vehicle that uses hydrogen fuel cells instead of batteries. HFC systems are inherently expensive, and inefficient in operation (energy out/energy in). Hydrogen is expensive to produce and transport, and dangerous. They have some nice qualities in theory, but smart people have been trying to make them viable for general transportation for several decades and they are still not getting there. Gas companies like it because the hydrogen is made from NG; that makes it more efficient, but doesn't reduce the use of fossil fuels.

You haven't been following what is going on in the trucking world, Cummings is working on both a Hydrogen internal combustion motor and Fuel cell trucks, Freight liner is working on a fuel cell trucks. GM is developing both technologies also. Who ever figures the trucking part of EV first will make a ton of money. There are announcements regularly in the industry.

Yes I’ve been hearing that also, cummins has been working on hydrogen for awhile. They are reportedly working on designing a 6.7 gas engine for the next generation of HD ram trucks also.

Obviously not for trucks but Honda has been working on this for over a decade. I believe they released something last year that said they have a working hydrogen ICE. Apparently not simple.
