Fabric skin to avoid problems with torsion

Hi, here's a picture of my truck with a previous body and living space. The canvas cover and floor standing furniture removed any problems with torsion, and only cost a few hundred quid, we traveled around southern Europe quite happily in it, in high temps and up rough tracks, for about 30000 miles. I wonder why you don't see this being done much?? Screenshot_20210513_054823.jpg

No opinions? Some fabrics like pvc lorry sheet are extremely hard wearing, tear resistant, repairable, come in any colour, and you can cover a lorry for little money. You can line the inside with insulation and you can have windows, vents and doors in solid bulkheads at either end.
Someone must've done it???

I love seeing textiles put to use Iike this. Silicon impregnated Poly canvas tarp material is pretty impressive stuff, too. I have recently used some as a cover/awning for my Jeep. Water beads and rolls off. No smell like waxed canvas.

I'll have to check those out, in the past I've used what we call lorry sheet, the same stuff they use for curtain siders.
I don't have any pics of the inside of my truck from when it was fitted out before, it was in a time before everyone took photos of everything, we just got on it, it's a shame really. We had some good times-

cool. i never knew what the material was on those vehicles, always just assumed it was a waxed canvas.
yeah, i remember when photos and film used to be an expensive proposition.
