Well, the price was right when it sold for under $10k a month ago. I’m glad the buyer didn’t have check engine issues but I’d hoped it would be someone who would build it, not flip it.

Good luck with the sell. That 03 6.0 has one of fords best transmission.

Delete it and enjoy.

Hello Everyone, i’m the guy selling the Ambulance. just been a troll on this site for a long time not much of a social butterfly. been looking for a crew cab 4x4 Ambulance with a pass thru for years. i did pay $10,000 then i had it shipped to beautiful Tillamook Oregon, didn’t really want to drive it with the check engine light on you can buy tires anywhere’s but my favorite 6.0 mechanic is in my town. didn’t come with any maintenance records so i had him totally go through it inspect everything and change all fluids, new Airbags. 6.0 get a bad rap but only by people that have had bad ones haha, guess i’m lucky this is my 4th 6.0, knock on wood i’ve had super good luck with the other 3, never did head studs but i do gut them and 5” turbo back which is what i’ll do to this one if i keep it, and if i keep it i’m going to put a little lift kit on the front and try to get some 37” tires on it, i think the back will handle the bigger tires with no modifications, and then there’s the wheels i’m old school love chrome and polished Aluminum really want to put some Alcoa polished but my tire guy is trying to talk me into some black bead locks. made a bed where the backseats are for the grandkids and did a double air mattress in the back for me and it was awesome. took them up to all the places that i used to haul Logs from where my Motor home can’t go. Don’t even really want to sell but thought i’d put an i don’t want to sell it price on it, heck i don’t even think i could replace it if i sold it. i can’t find another crew cab 4x4 Ambulance for sale unless you’re looking at the the bigger f750s which i didn’t want cause the 6-8 mpg makes it so i don’t get to boondock as much, or an earthroamer or Tiger which i cannot afford. my other 3 6.0s would get almost 20 empty and 17.5 mpg towing a 10,000 lb trailer and go 65 on the uphills. well my phone number is on my CL ad don’t bother emailing me only check that about every 4 months. been snowbirding for about 7 years to Arizona, this crew cab replaced my 1986 E350 4x4 460 C6 ambulance van, loved that Ambo but it wasn’t real roomy and had only 65” headroom no side door and got about 6-8 mpg i always try to look at the bright side and it did get 10 mpg going downhill though. have a good day everybody, haters can hate cause old truckers got real thick skin

Welcome! Please keep it and build it out! It’s such a cool and unique rig. I was thinking real hard about bidding on this one, but my driveway is currently a bit too full. I miss
my old ambo that we got rid of when we had a 2nd kid... Smart move to ship it, who knows what adventures that drive may have held!

I also can’t blame you for the price. PNW vanlife/overlanding is crazy and someone will likely make it worth your while. I’ve seen so many rigs get bought, shined up, some BFG ATs put on and then resold for a big premium. But I still think you should keep it and build it up and take lots of pictures and share them here so we can all enjoy the adventures.

Also, I’m guessing this was yours? Super cool & clean rig, FD red looks good on these, and the angled box is nice for less tree bashing. I’ll bet the new rig drives a bit better though!

I was very close to bidding on this one as well - have never seen a crew cab 4x4 much less one with a pass thru. Build a cab-over and you're competing with an Earthroamer for a fraction of the cost.
The 6.0 scared me away. Very frustrating because this model year could have just as easily gotten the last of the 7.3's.
If this had the 7.3, or if the 6.0 was bulletproofed, this might be worth the $25k ask as-is.
Very cool truck. Please update us if it sells, or if you build it out.

good morning everybody, well the old 6.0 made it a few weeks with no check engine lights anyways. had a guy from California, we’ll call him H, come and look at the Ambo. he looked it over good and when we started it there was a check engine light on, we took it to oriely together had a code for p2285 it’s the ICP sensor. he asked if we could take a long test drive to check mpg. filled her up and first took him to one of my favorite places in tillamook, the Barview Jetty Campground, you can camp and take showers here but you can also for free, drive through the campgrounds to the Tillamook bay jetty. its a great place for day use, fishing, watching the boats going over the bar, great access to a long sandy beach and a great sunset location. we left there and continued north to one of the best vantage points in Tillamook, the lookouts on Neahkahnie mountain where you can see about 75 miles out in the ocean, i think H was impressed with the view from the lookouts he said he wanted to camp on the mountain above the lookouts so i told him where the logging road was that would put him up there, then we headed back to Tillamook and i ran it over the scale and it weighs about 11,850 lb. then went back to the gas station topped it off 3.7 gallons for 60 miles or a little over 16 mpg mix of driving of about half city and highway, but ran speed limit all the way up the mountain. i like being a low pressure salesman always make dealing with buyers alot funner. that is my old 4x4 van in the post above sold that to a couple from south dakota. the gcvw of my F350 Ambo is 12,500 so H would have had to smog in cali, i don’t have to smog here in oregon but that was going to be an issue for H. i don’t try to hide anything from buyers, i point out the bad stuff to them that i know about. i’m going to have the icp sensor changed when my mechanic can squeeze me in but for now check engine lights on but running very nicely.
