good morning everybody, well the old 6.0 made it a few weeks with no check engine lights anyways. had a guy from California, we’ll call him H, come and look at the Ambo. he looked it over good and when we started it there was a check engine light on, we took it to oriely together had a code for p2285 it’s the ICP sensor. he asked if we could take a long test drive to check mpg. filled her up and first took him to one of my favorite places in tillamook, the Barview Jetty Campground, you can camp and take showers here but you can also for free, drive through the campgrounds to the Tillamook bay jetty. its a great place for day use, fishing, watching the boats going over the bar, great access to a long sandy beach and a great sunset location. we left there and continued north to one of the best vantage points in Tillamook, the lookouts on Neahkahnie mountain where you can see about 75 miles out in the ocean, i think H was impressed with the view from the lookouts he said he wanted to camp on the mountain above the lookouts so i told him where the logging road was that would put him up there, then we headed back to Tillamook and i ran it over the scale and it weighs about 11,850 lb. then went back to the gas station topped it off 3.7 gallons for 60 miles or a little over 16 mpg mix of driving of about half city and highway, but ran speed limit all the way up the mountain. i like being a low pressure salesman always make dealing with buyers alot funner. that is my old 4x4 van in the post above sold that to a couple from south dakota. the gcvw of my F350 Ambo is 12,500 so H would have had to smog in cali, i don’t have to smog here in oregon but that was going to be an issue for H. i don’t try to hide anything from buyers, i point out the bad stuff to them that i know about. i’m going to have the icp sensor changed when my mechanic can squeeze me in but for now check engine lights on but running very nicely.
