I thought perhaps some of you with larger rigs, or even small rigs with large tires, might find this interesting.
Arctic Trucks just spec'd a 38" winter tire...it's an "X/T" pattern, combined with irregular stud positioning, siping normally only found on a Nokian, a sidewall flex pattern similar to a good rock/dirt tire, great flex characteristics at low temperatures, and excellent contact patch spread at low pressure.

Too bad it's only offered in a 38, they only made 800, and they're only available in Iceland . Hopefully they will open them to the international market, as they are made at presumably the same factory as the Cepek they're based on, which are already distro'd widely in North America.
