First FZJ-80 Finally!

Finally joined the club and scored an FZJ-80. Tough decision because I love the 60's but having just got rid of my VW camper buses I wanted something alittle more modern and comfortable. Next up mods!

Congrats! First mod... Change your thread title to read "FZJ 80". It looks newer than a 92:). Such great rigs. You will love it!

Congrats! Great looking Cruiser!

While it's not as sexy as mods - make sure you baseline the rig throughly. These Cruisers are very capable in bone stock trim, but it's up to you to insure the legendary reliability. Slee has some great write ups in their tech section about what to look for and what to do. Birfields, head gasket testing, etc. are common concerns but rarely are problems. Do yourself, and the rig, a favor and know what your driving.

What part of Oregon are you in? We spend a lot of time there! I will second schattenjagers reccommendation to go read the tech articles on Slee's website. There are a lot of good write ups.

Well I actually live in Anacortes Washington the tabs are from the previous owner. Sounds like I need to go to Slee's website. But I tell you I'm planning on wheeling in Oregon and Washington because my cousins live in Portland so I'll be down there. I'd love to hit the road with others as I'm really new to the off-road scene.
