Getting ready for gun season in MO and usually throw in some snacks - jerky, gorp, etc to take along. Must be unrefrigerated, sweet and salty, nutritious.

But a whole tackle box full? Well, certainly bigger than a coat pocket, plus, with the wrappers off, no litter or noise. There's always something to learn . . .

True! And we buy it by the bagful, just to fill a small pinch in a tiny compartment.

What has gotten really interesting are all the influencers who now play liability games by insisting only FDA approved food grade plastics be used in the containers. Search for that. An "FDA approved tackle box" will get maybe one result, and it's not the fault of the tackle box makers their products are alternately used when the intent was to house fake bait, not food products.

I was looking at an inexpensive box and the maker was promoting it was made from 25% recycled polymers. Which begs the question, which ones, as BPA contaminated plastics are falling out of favor and being tossed out. Plus, some polymers have issues with chemicals leaching INTO the plastic - which then leads to what is really in them which we don't know? Entire mens suits are made from recycled fibers, are we wearing industrial poisons?

Do we really trust our offshore manufacturers in light of them using lead based paints for glassware sold thru fast food retailers? That was a thing just a few years back, when this whole fad started on pinterest - to carry snacks for infants and toddlers. As if a medical schedule for 87 vaccinations isn't a concern.

I have a general rule I use: Observe the masses, do the opposite. I might let this fad pass. Spending another $10 for a compartmented food tray all because I don't want food to touch? Who's personal issues am I allowing to make my choices?

Obviously the term is catchy, I agree ^^, I have many 'tackle boxes ' doubt they're 'food grade' being the same thing.
Serious question,
Describe 'food items' ?
