a co-worker and I played hooky yesterday and went to Silver Lake on Highway 88 in the California Sierras, elevation is around 7200 feet. the weather forecast was for thunderstorms during the weekend so I wanted to beat the lightning storms. it was in the low 30's all day and started snowing around noon and snowed steadily until we left around 4 in the afternoon. we caught and released rainbow trout all day, first we trolled using a variety of lures then when it started snowing we anchored up close to the boat launch because the snow made for poor visiblitly on the water and the snow stung like needles while trolling.
