Flat bed builds?

I have a 2005 F350 and a Lance 915 camper. I want to upgrade the camper to one with a slide, and will also have to get 19.5s when I tow the Jeep or race car. I want to build a flatbed when I do this, but I have never built one before, and I do take the truck up where I probably shouldn't, to remote lakes and pretty crappy roads.

Camper will weigh about 4500 lbs loaded wet, how do I attach the flatbed? Do I need to 3-point? I saw a post with springs mounting it? Or just flat to frame on all 4 points? Thanks for any ideas, or even links to builds (I couldn't find much in a search). Thanks all.

No you don't need a 3 point. It's never a bad idea but in most cases it is un needed and a bit over the top. The flat bed itself is a simple animal. Decide what you want as far as dimensions IE: length and width then factor in over the cab clearance . This will set the height of the deck. I'd recommend steel. Easy to work with , less expensive , and much more durable. At a 4,500 lb load weight the added weight of a steel bed shouldn't be an issue. Were talking a couple hundred pounds at the worst. Probably less if well thought out. The damn thing shouldn't take more than a day or two to fabricate . Have fun man.

I just use ratchet straps to attach camper for now (would rather use than build) I don’t have a 3 point either
