What year? Automatic or Manual? Manual - yes, everything (transfer case & transmission) in neutral. Not sure about automatic. If you disconnect the drive shafts, then no problem.
Everything I have read says its not a good idea to flat tow 4x4 and AWD rigs. With that being said when you start disconnecting things like mentioned above I know several folks who have done it. Why not keep your eyes open for a cheap dual axel trailer ? It seems to me like this would be a better idea for wear and tear on your rig. I suspect that if it was a long term thing the price of the trailer would be offset by not putting those miles on your truck in a way that it was not indended to be used.
