Check out this notebook stand, which might be useful in the confined space of a camper, or outside with a lawn chair:

The stand can be adjusted to work in a very wide range of positions, including standing, sitting in a chair, sitting on the floor, and everywhere in between. The stand is expensive, so you might want to simply study how it works, and fab up your own version.

Neat idea....


Just thinking out loud, but would a camera tripod (or a heavier duty video camera tripod) with a ram mount and adapter be just as useful (except when sitting on the floor)?

A piece of plywood with a t-nut in the right thread (1/4-20?) could serve as a base too, in lieu of the ram mount. Some velcro and you could be good to go.

Can you tell I'm thrifty (*ahem*...cheap...)? :elkgrin:
