Greetings fellow travelers- my woman/life partner and I just picked up a very spiritual '94 Toyota Truck (which we have named GanStridorc which is a cross between Gandalf, Strider and Orc- Wisdom, Bravery, Violence.. the three legs of the human stool) that has this really fantastic flippy-house on the back of it.
We believe it is called a "Flippac".
If you haven't heard about these, the roof of the bed-nest opens up over the hood of the truck into a tent with a queen sized bed in it. We bought this delightful shell from a really cool, new agey, hippy (evidence of hippy nature? Guatemalan vest, Keen shoes ubiquitous "Coexist sticker" in back window) couple up in Solana Beach- they were the original owners and they cared for and loved this wacky turnover house.
The camper is in good condition- it opens and closes smoothly, the "torsion bar" is intact and fully functional and it even comes with the giant steel lever that is used to open the clamshell and/or beat in the kneecaps of those who mistreat our small furry forest friends. Unless you eat the carcass of the creature and use the tendons for twine and the brain matter to turn hide to leather- then it's okay and we won't harm your kneecaps.
The flippy house shell comes with a "rain fly" all of the canvas is intact and the aluminum frame members are functional and in excellent shape. On the bummer side, there are a couple of tears in the front windows screen and the tip of one of the struts that connect to the hood of the trunk is broken. Other than those items, the shell is in good shape with no cracks, holes or major blemishes.
If you're interested in buying our "flippac" we're looking for $850 which we will use to increase the size of our alpaca herd and for installing an additional composting toilet.
