Flippac modification

I have an 8 foot flip pac I was thinking of modifying to fit a short bed. Any suggestions on what would I need to do to sure up the front over hang. Right now as it sits it has no overhang since it was for a long bed? As for getting a new one being on the east coast makes switching it for another not so easy.

If you only want your flippac on your truck part time you could consider building a lower slide in tub for your flippac. That way you wouldn’t have to hack up the fiberglass structure of your flippac trying to make it fit the short bed. You could just slide it in with the tailgate left on. Someone on this forum did a nice job converting a flippac to a slide in camper. He re-did the back of the camper to make a vertical door but you could keep the back glass like it is and make lower dutch doors for the tub portion.

I agree. Building a fixed lower portion and making it a slide-in is probably your best best. It'll be much easier to end up with a nice finish product, and you'll gain the 1.5' on the inside when it's in the truck.

Thanks for the input I was leaning that way but thought it might be nice to leave it on all the time. Now the question is square overhang or angled.

Yes I did take a look at his it was part of the reason I snapped up the shell even though it was for a long bed. I was now just trying to decide if towing, spare tire access, or ease of entry was worth the angled construction.
