Fluid Recommendations

Hi All,

I recently changed oil for front and rear diffs as well as engine oil on my FG434. I still need to do gearbox and transfer case fluid changes. I am hoping for fluid recommendations for these.

Also looking for recommendations on how to shift out of 4wd low.

You can shift between 2WD and High 4WD on the fly (while driving), but you need to stop in order to shift between High 4WD and Low 4WD.
Be mindful that the front hubs need to be locked for the front diff to be functional in 4WD.

Transfer 80w90 gear oil. approx 2.5L

Shifting in/out of high-low can hang up if you happen to be turning a corner or one wheel is digging. This is because the front can be turning faster than the rear and it will bind. If it hangs, try backing up a few feet with the steering slight turned.
