Folding hammock recommendations?

One of my friends got a folding hammock as a bday present from his wife a few years back and he's brought it on a few camping trips. I've fallen in love with it and want my own.

I need one with a folding frame so I can use it in my yard with its one tree, and am looking for something that collapses down to something relatively compact for car camping trips. My buddy's fits in a bag about the size of a walmart camping chair, which seems reasonable to me.

Anyone have experience with something like this?

Not sure if McLean has enough hang distace is enough for some (Warbonnet or Clark) hammocks.

This is an option ....

look up turtle dog hammock stand. I made mine for the beach.

the Turtle Dog Hammock Stand has many followers with quite a few variations

here is a link to the main thread on Hammock Forums website(this is a huge thread with an amazing amount of information)

made out of bamboo, wood, aluminium, conduit, cast iron pipe...

full length/height averages in the 7' range and several break down into 2 sections

many of the variations can be broken down into shorter sections

as for the hammocks themselves i'd suggest starting out looking at Dutchware Gear

and Hennessee Hammocks
