Purchased new from Hiker Trailer (HT) in March 2023. This EOR model has a heavy-duty suspension and frame, excellent ground clearance, articulating Lock-n-Roll trailer hitch, and 33-inch tires on Jeep-compatible rims appropriate for serious off road usage. This particular model EOR has a 5x8 box which HK no longer produces. The interior is 6-1/2 feet long and the rear cargo/kitchen area is 1-1/2 feet deep. Although shorter than the 5x9 box currently produced by HT it is plenty long for a 6-foot 3-inch plus sleeper but more agile than the longer trailer when venturing off road.
Starting in June 2023 two of us lived out of and towed the trailer with a 2018 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited for 18-months. This combination of the Rubicon and the shorter HT trailer connected with the Lock-n-Roll articulating trailer hitch allowed us to travel along Class IV roads in Vermont, around the Great Lakes, reach backcountry camp sites in Big Bend NP, Death Valley NP, Canyonlands NP, and travel the Arizona Peace Trail. The trailer has gone with us almost anywhere the Jeep could go, with the possible exception of the Rubicon trail and some roads along the Alpine Loop in Colorado.
The attached build sheet lists the options installed by HT*, including the following:
- Diamond plate front and sides
- Doors on both sides with windows and screens
- Pass through between sleeping area and rear cargo/kitchen
- Roof rack
- Under floor storage cargo pan
- Electric brakes
- Fridge box wired for 12v DC
- Lock-n-Roll articulating trailer hitch
* The build sheet lists a swing out rear tire carrier, which is no longer on this trailer.
In addition to factory options our trailer has been augmented with four 2.5 gallon gerry cans set in a rack system atop the fridge box for fresh water, an EcoFlow River 2 Pro lithium power station, 120 watt portable solar panel, and a Joolca hot water shower mounted in a Pelican case attached to one side of the trailer. (At this time the Joolca is not operable likely due to a faulty regulator. I’m attempting to resolve and will edit listing if I’m successful.)
List price on this build at the time of purchase was $20,265. We purchased for $18,999 because this build was a canceled order. Asking $12,500. If interested contact Mark via text at 610-394-0426 or email to mark.suchecki@mac.com. Located in Seattle, WA.
