Motafinga
Adventurer
I know I'll be kicking myself for this but after many great adventures, it's time to pass the torch to the next owner.
1997 Last of the pre-smog PSD F series, she runs like a top with 240k miles and many more to go.
Orignal California Truck.
Truck was completely checked out recently at a Ford specialty shop in Santa Fe before the drive back home to the Bay Area.
4x4 components throughly checked and a couple worn u-joints were replaced with genuine Dana parts. 4x4 is working flawlessly.
New Transmission with a Triple Disk HD Billet Torque Convertor and external cooler with fan.
4.10 gears and Limited Slip Rear Axle.
4 position DP Tuner and a 4 inch exhaust pipe all the way back from turbo. Cat Delete. Will include Cat if next owner wants it.
Y-pipe and Intake plumbing was just replaced.
The truck makes excellent power and pulls mountain passes with ease.
Hi Torque Starter, Dual Redtop Optima batteries
I’ve tested the oil with BlackStone Labs on several occasions and it has always come back with excellent results.
The front end is very tight, all front bushings including Axle Pivots, Shackles and Leaf Springs were recently upgraded to Polyurethane which made a huge difference in durability and handling.
The steering box is a New RedHead unit with all new PS lines.
The Rag Joint was also replaced with a Borgenson, Billit, u-joint steering shaft. All tie rods and ball joints are also recent Moog units.
All this made a great improvement in the front end feel and drivability.
Cooper Discoverer AT3 33' tires with about 80% remaining tread
New full size spare tire
Power Stop Front calipers, Rotors and Pads with 50% pad life
Napa Heavy Duty Fleet Rear drums and Pads with 50% life
Brakes are very strong on this truck!
Custom leaf spring packs from A1 spring in Oakland.
Fox Shocks all around.
Onboard Air compressor with tank and air chucks on each side of truck and special hoses to air all 4 tires at once.
Nice Stereo with BT input and under seat Subwoofer.
Light Bar Mounted on Camper.
Tool Bed with lockable storage, custom fit to truck and camper and is mounted with a torsion free subframe to the truck. The storage is very nice to have outside the camper and helps keep the COG nice and Low.
I relocated the propane tank from the camper to the tool bed and use the easy to find BBQ style tanks, this makes finding propane refills on the road very easy and there’s also a spare tank to never run out unexpectedly.
Camper is a 2000 Alaskan, with many upgrades.
Sleeps 2 adults and 2 dogs or kids comfortably.
Dinette that converts to bed/lounging area.
Very cozy in cold weather
Black Out shades
Full Oven 3 burner Wedgwood stove.
Compressor Fridge.
27 Gal Water
Plumbing for H20 heater if desired.
200 watts of Solar on Roof.
Battle Born Lithium Batteries - 200 ah.
Renogy DC/DC 40 amp charger quickly tops up off alternator.
Renogy 1000 watt inverter.
Mppt Solar Charge Controller.
Recent Pirelli Seals between the 2 halves of camper.
Recently re-sealed roof - No Leaks.
Atwood Furnace w/newer fan motor.
ARB Rear Awning
Wilson 5G Cell Booster
Camper shows patina typical of an Adventure Rig such as pinstripes, some small dings etc..
Things that could use attention at some point:
Trucks right front fender has a dent and the tool bed could use new paint.
If I don’t get interest at this price, I’ll re-paint the entire truck, replace the fender and of course the price will go up accordingly.
Rear fuel tank, it’s not using the full capacity and you need to switch to front tank when rear reaches 1/4 tank. It is likely the fuel pickup not reaching the bottom of tank. It hasn’t been a big problem for me and I still always seem to have enough range but it would be good to fix.
AC condensor has a leak
Otherwise the truck is absolutely usable as is and ready for the next adventure!
