Found this at the flea market.

I found this tool box at the flea market. I am thinking of making this into a kitchen box. The shelves are not removable so I am thinking of finding plastic containers that will fit in there . or it might be less efficient use of space than what I am already using.

If so, you'll be seeing in the for sale section.

GMTK!! Sweet find! We have a ton of those at my unit and they lost just past forever. Hopefully it does what you need.

Using a fence on a table saw you could easily cut down some generic rubbermaid trays or bins to fit the exact height you want. Or build the trays from 1/4" woods

Here's an idea. We use similar tool boxes at work and in order to get the most out of them, we stack stiff foam boards with cutouts for the tools. Maybe you could do something similar and make pull out foam trays with cutouts for whatever you want to keep in there. Be better than generic plastic trays and you can cut the foam down to fit snugly inside. The foam would be MUCH lighter than wood too.

Both great ideas. I've been looking for Rubbermaid or similar items to use as drawers. I wish my carpentry skills were better.

Is there any labeling on it... That is a great find... I want one :) If there is a brand, model or such maybe I oe we could locate another. Keep us posted on your mods!

I've looked at Hobby Lobby and Michaels online. They have some foam but it looks to thin. I'll have to check the stores out when they open.

Your local lumber yard can get you 1", 1 1/2" or 2" stiff Styrofoam building insulation board. It's cheap and durable, and will work just fine for what you are doing there. You can cut it with a utility knife, glue it with yellow carpenters glue, or cut and form it with a hot knife if you have the skills.
