Four weeks in New Zealand

Don't know if this counts as it was done without a 4WD vehicle, but a Hyundai Getz instead...

Spent about 4 weeks in NZ recently. Just over 2.5 weeks on the South Island and the rest on the North Island. What a place...

Anyway, hope you enjoy the photos in no particular order...

New Zealand Fur Seal in Kaikoura...

Great Wandering Albatross near Kaikoura...

Some kind of whale near Kaikoura... don't remember what kind. Will have to check other pics.

Mediocre Pancake Rocks shot...

Some lake... will have to check map. Missed killer light by like 10 seconds... so it goes....

The sun just about to rise over the Fox Glacier... turned out interesting. I think if I learned how to use the camera better, I could have made this really nice... but I'm getting there I suppose...

Mt. Cook from the West Coast highway... didn't get to explore that area this trip. Next time...

Kea with waterfalls behind in Fjordland National Park...

Kea that was hell bent on rolling these glacial ice chunks down this hill... over and over. Strange. Fjordland National Park.

Lake Marian - Fjordland National Park. This picture turned out quite well. I really should resize, but it is hard to fit on screen... oh well.

Yellow Eyed Penguin nested near Shag Point, N of Dunedin. These little buggers are tough to find mid-day. Short on time, but crawling around in the bush paid off this time...

Now, when you say, "Mediocre Pancake Rocks shot..." I assume that Mediocre is the name of the pancake rocks . . .

It was a great trip - highly recommended for everyone who hasn't (and has already!) been there. Very easy traveling compared to some other places I've been. Just low stress, enjoyable travel in an absolutely beautiful country. Doesn't get much better.
