This little gem has been tons of fun for the past three years. Our growing family is steering us into a more conventional setup, so it's time to get this trailer into the hands of someone who can enjoy it as much as we have. It was built by two forum members, TheGillz (Clark) and Geotracker90 (Mike). The build thread is here: http://www.expeditionportal.com/for...er-via-Geotracker90-Build!?highlight=thegillz
The for sale listing from 2011 when I bought it from Clark: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/66664-TheGillz-Trailer-For-Sale?highlight=thegillz

After purchasing the trailer from Clark, I made a number of modifications. The first and most obvious is the roof top tent from Scott at Compact Camping Concepts. Read all about it here: http://www.top-tent.com/tentunits/moabtent I can't say enough good things about this tent. Its been bullet proof. Setup takes about two minutes, and maybe five to fold it up. It's definitely a two person capacity, about the size of a full-size bed.

I installed stabilizer jacks at the corners to provide a more solid feeling platform when the tent is deployed. The front jacks are the standard light trailer type that retract under the frame. The ground clearance on the trailer is so great that blocks must be used for these jacks to reach. This type of jack cannot be used on the back due to how the frame is constructed, so I use long reach screw adjustable jacks there. These are not bolted to the trailer and must be stowed in the side box for travel. As seen in the photos below the rear jacks, blocks, stakes and tent struts all pack into one side box with room to spare.

On the kitchen side, I was unhappy with the position of the Partner stove. The drawer slides Clark had used sagged under most any weight and the location of the stove in the center of the side box left little room to prepare the grub. I gutted that, rebuilt the stove to it's original configuration and moved it to the right hand side of the box. When the stove pulls out, it rests on delrin pads that are attached to the side box door, which transfers any weight on the stove to the door. I also replaced the cable door supports with solid metal links. The whole setup is now very solid and will take any amount of weight. The lid also provides plenty of space to the left of the stove to stage your cooking.

Cosmetically the powder coat has held up pretty well. There are scuffs from use on the front load deck and in the cargo bay. There are no mechanical issues. It is equipped with electric brakes and is wired for a 7-pin connection to the tow vehicle. It tows very nicely behind our Jeep Wrangler.

The trailer will come with a 2-1/2" memory foam mattress, 10lb propane bottle, Partner stove and regulator, and Lock-n-Roll hitch. It's located in southern Idaho near Twin Falls. Asking $4,000.

Thanks for looking,
Josh
